Stopping Thought with the Third Eye Exercise
You may be wondering why you’re the only person who seems to have trouble meditating. Everyone seems to get along just fine, stopping their minds, relaxing, going into a blissful state of trance. But whenever you try to meditate, your mind races even faster than usual. I have just the technique for you!
This technique utilizes a major chakra known as the Third Eye chakra. The Third Eye is located in the center of your forehead, between your eyebrows. You may have an easier time focusing between your eyes or even up on your forehead – go with whatever works for you. Now when you place your body awareness on this spot, you will feel a tingling sensation. Don’t worry if you don’t feel that yet – you will in time. If you do, great. If not, you might try gently placing the tip of your finger in that spot and focusing on the feeling of your finger on your skin.
Once your focus, whether mental body focus or actual finger-touch focus, is on your third eye, concentrate on that feeling. If you have the tingling, become aware of it and allow it to amplify. Breathe deeply, slowly, and rhythmically. If you breathe deeply while focusing on your third eye, an amazing thing happens. Your mind stops cold!
No wild thoughts, no self-conversations, and no remembering, stressing, or worrying can occur in this state. The longer you hold it, the more all of your stress and mental ramblings will vanish. At first they will leave an impression, but they are gone. Practice sitting in this state for about five minutes each day for three or four days. After that, entering into the third-eye focus state will become easy. Later it will become second nature.
When you have control of this state and can summon it instantly whenever you want, begin focusing on your desire. Start by focusing on the third eye, then simultaneously begin thinking about or speaking aloud the desire you wish to manifest. Your attention will be undivided, as you will be using the singular focus power of the third eye meditation, and your desire will get 100% of your energy. This is a powerful trick for working with the Law of Attraction and visualization techniques.
And before long, you will notice that you can return to this state without even needing to focus on the area of your third eye. You will be able to stop your mind whenever you wish, because you will have become accustomed to the mental silence inherent in the third eye meditation. Then you can meditate in any way that you wish, without any worry of getting sucked into your normal mental ramblings. A quiet mind is a powerful mind, so go get started and begin planning for the manifestation of your desires!

I have been practicing the art of meditation for quite some time now and I have finally reached a point where I can shut out everything around me and shut of my mind as you put It from all of the outside interference. I only wish I would have heard of this technique a long time ago so this state of disconnect could have been achieved more quickly. For any of your readers that are trying to meditate in this fashion I highly recommend using your technique it is a lot more simple than most. Thank you for the tips, even though I have figured out a way to achieve this state of mind I will implement your process immediately as I have found it is much faster.
This and many other techniques which are used in just about every form of meditation are based on the fascinating, ancient practice of prayer which was taught to ancient man by the fallen angels or ancient aliens or extra terrestrials – people call the fallen angels different things, but regardless of what you call them by name or believe they were, their history and the mark they left on the human race, and the planet, for that matter (via the megalithic monuments which were left behind throughout the Earth), are indelible and undeniable. My point is that once you practice and get a feel for this, as with anything you repeatedly practice, you become proficient at producing positive results.
The kind of disconnect you are describing here can be achieved by simply focusing entirely on one thing and one thing only, it doesn’t have to be a spot in the middle of your forehead. It could be a spot on the wall for that matter, as long as what ever it is has your full attention you can achieve this disconnect you are talking about. The kind of meditation you are talking about is some kind of religion isn’t it?
I am not familiar with this exercise but isn’t this a form of a Hindu religion? Basically this practice can be done with anything though right it doesn’t have to be a spot on your forehead? I think the Indians used to do it by concentrating on an animal, in yoga you do it by concentrating on your breathing and in martial arts don’t you concentrate on your heart beat? So I think there are many was to achieve this state of mind. Thank you for sharing you technique with us though it as very interesting.
Is it really true that meditating can open your third eye. I use to see things before and now I can’t anymore. I don’t even want to see anymore it’ll just freak me out.
This is a very interesting piece, I have noticed there is a lot of different ways to meditate used in different cultures. The orient uses forms of martial arts to meditate and there is a culture that uses yoga to meditate and even the Indian tribes would use a form of drug to reach this state of disconnect that you are talking about. Your blog is interesting but as you can clearly see it is not a new thing, although bringing this form into the mix will help if someone is looking for a way to meditate and none of the others appeal to them.
My question is why do you want to stop thought? And what exactly do you suppose the reader Whistler Accommodations used to see that he doesn’t want to see anymore? From my understanding the third eye is not something you see with, it is a figure of speech for a focal point of meditation (prayer) in the Hindu culture. Your post was very interesting and entertaining at the same time, I some times wonder where the conclusions that people come to, come from.
I have heard of this concept, but the only thing I have ever known about it is what sounds like the obvious, namely, that you sort of look upon yourself as from a different entity. I believe I first heard about this when Dr. Wayne Dyer talked about his belief in this practice of third eye meditation in one of his audio cassettes back in the 1990′s. This article goes more in depth into it and it helped me to better understand this ancient practice. As with anything, it takes a few repetitions to develop a feel for it and you eventually become proficient and you develop your own style and nuances of executing this practice.
Controlling your thoughts can sometimes be difficult, this much is true. I like the idea of meditation to shut everything out and focus on relaxation, but doing that in a house with four young children a husband and a yappy dog is impossible. I am going to try this method of the third eye and see what happens, If I can achieve disconnect from my thoughts I will let you know.
