Daily Positive Affirmations - A Tool for Life

Category: Public, Subconscious Mind

daily-affirmationsPerhaps you have heard of the “Law of Attraction”. This law states that you attract to yourself the things that you believe. If you use positive affirmations, good things will follow, and bad things follow negative thinking. So if you want to improve your everyday life, you will want to use daily affirmations to begin changing the “self talk” that may not have been giving such uplifting feedback.

Using daily affirmations improves anyone’s mental status, regardless of circumstances. It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past, today is a fresh start to help make good things start happening in your life.

Using positive affirmations does not, of course, mean that bad things are not going to happen around you. We live in the real world, and there are things that are going to push your limits on what you feel you can handle. Daily affirmations work by helping you learn how to control your emotions when bad things are going on around you, which will prevent you from letting the frustration overtake you. This offsets the domino effect of negative thinking, if you will, allowing the good to come back quicker.

Hypnotists have used the power of suggestion on the subconscious mind for years to change behavior, but you don’t have to have outside help. Your subconscious mind can be retrained through positive affirmations. How do you do this?

First, you will need to construct positive affirmations to repeat to yourself. Write them down; take your time, this is an investment in your overall wellbeing.

You will want to state your beliefs in the present tense. This may be done by saying things such as “I am beautiful” instead of “I will be beautiful” so that the belief comes alive for you immediately. Don’t put it off to the future.

Make your daily affirmations positive. When teaching a child what you want, you tell them what the desired outcome is. Most children respond quicker when you tell them “Walk” instead of “Don’t run”. Your positive affirmations should reflect this mindset of the desired result instead of focusing on the negative. Ignore what it is you are trying to get past.

Make your positive affirmations short and specific. This makes it easy to run through your mind when you start to feel overwhelmed.

You don’t have to share your daily affirmations with anyone around you, but you might find that your beliefs are shining through in your actions. Uses a few minutes at work to meditate on your positive affirmations before the afternoon kicks in, or say it out loud in your car with conviction. You may have to retrain your subconscious mind to really grab onto what you are training it to make you believe it.

Showing gratitude for the things we already have is a key element to making daily affirmations effective. By enjoying the small things, your eyes will be open to the larger things that make your life full. Your positive attitude attracts other people to you, and infects them with a positive attitude. This will become a key to bringing success your way.

You may want to write down the positive things in your life. A journal is a good way to record the positive parts of your life, so when you are having a down day you can use it with your daily affirmations to see how good life is.

Make sure that you don’t hoard your daily affirmations. Share them with other people around you. Tell them they are doing a great job, or that you appreciate them. Return their favors with random acts of kindness.

It doesn’t matter if you are using your daily affirmations to apply things to your personal or work life. When you give to someone else, they want to give back.

You may be feeling a little skeptical about daily affirmations, but think about how you respond when someone criticizes you. Instead of being your own critic, be your own cheerleader. You will be amazed where you can go when you believe in yourself.
