Your Idyllic Life is a Fantasy Away!

Listen with webreader

Have you heard of the Law of Attraction, and how it provides you the ability to attract exactly the things, people, and circumstances into your life that you visualize? You certainly also have a dream life in mind – that model life you would most like to be living. You may occasionally visualize it, but you might not do so as much as you did, say, as a child. Even when you daydream, you probably “come back to reality” afterwards, and maybe even feel silly for daydreaming. I’m here to tell you today that your ultimate life is a mere vision away.

Visualizing is the most important aspect of applying the Law of Attraction. What do you think that “visualizing” is? It’s focused, intentional daydreaming! Using your imagination willfully (rather than as a guilty pleasure, which we as proper adults should never indulge in…), you open up doors of potential you may not have imagined possible.

Most of us, as adults, do not daydream in any type of focused manner. We daydream for a few seconds here and there, sporadically. We do not choose to daydream on a specific desire we have, because we have been instructed to consider that a childish activity. Daydreaming, however, is anything but childish.

Daydreaming, when focused, is the sincerest form of habit for using the Law of Attraction to bring forth your desires into your life.

Take a few moments each and every day to sit back, relax, and truly visualize what you desire. Daydream for as long as you can before your mind starts to wander, then continue your regular daily activities. By making the conscious decision to daydream without shame, you will begin to put out that powerful, excited emotional energy that so many children generate day after day. This is the energy of creation. This is the energy of attraction.

As you begin to establish this compelling practice, you will find that your desires begin to flow more naturally into your life, with little effort on your part. It can be far easier to attract your desires than you imagine at this time. Let the power of your visualizations and the focus of your intent manifest your desires into your life. But beware, once this process begins to blossom, you can’t stop it. You will forevermore find yourself living a life that more and more resembles your ideal life.

Performing breathing can have therapeutic effects, and with enough practice, can become your regular way of breathing. To breathe using the diaphragm, one must pull air into the lungs in a manner which will expand the stomach instead of the chest.

It is most effective to perform these breaths as long, slow intakes of air – allowing the body to take in all of the inhaled oxygen while at the same time relaxing the breather. To do this comfortably, it is most effective to loosen tight-fitting pants, belts, skirts as these can interfere with the body’s ability to intake air. The old-fashioned remedy of breathing slowly into a brown paper baggy works extremely well to relax you and bring about proper breathing. Another method of this relaxation technique has to do with taking slow deep breaths. At first you may find you need to force yourself to breathe slowly, but persist and you’ll soon be as good as new.

And bear in mind that some people, mainly those with significant psychological problems and a history of neglect, may have feelings of emotional unease in the course of relaxation exercises. Although this is rare, if you experience emotional unease in the course of relaxation exercises, stop what you’re doing and consider talking to your health care professional. Character-Building
Thought Power – Part 4

character building

Let us take a moment to see how these same conditions would have been met by a person of less wisdom, one not as far-sighted as this dear, virtuous woman has been. For a time, possibly her spirit would have been crushed. Fears and foreboding of all kinds would probably have taken hold of her, and she would have felt that nothing that she could do would be of any avail. Or, she might have rebelled against the agencies, against the law which brought about the conditions in which she found herself, and she might have become embittered against the world, and gradually also against the various people with whom she came in contact. Or again, she might have thought that her efforts would be unable to meet the circumstances and that it was the duty of someone to lift her out of her difficulties. In this way, no progress at all would have been made towards the accomplishment of the desired results, and continually she would have felt more keenly the circumstances in which she found herself, because there was nothing else to occupy her mind. In this way, the little farm would not have become hers, she would not have been able to do anything for others, and her nature would have become embittered against everything and everybody.

True it is, then, not, what are the conditions in one’s life? But, how does he meet the conditions that he finds there? This will determine all. And if, at any time, we are apt to think that our own lot is about the hardest there is, and if we are able, at any time, to persuade ourselves that we can find no one whose lot is just a little harder than ours, let us then study for a little while the character Pompilia, in Browning’s poem, * and after studying it, thank God that the conditions in our life are so favorable; and then set about with a trusting and intrepid spirit to actualize the conditions that we most desire.

Thought is at the bottom of all progress or retrogression, of all success or failure, of all that is desirable or undesirable in human life. The type of thought we entertain both creates and draws conditions that crystallize about it conditions exactly the same in nature as is the thought that gives them form. Thoughts are forces, and each creates of its kind, whether we realize it or not. The great law of the drawing power of the mind, which says that like creates like, and that like attracts like, is continually working in every human life, for it is one of the vast immutable laws of the universe. For one to take time to see clearly the things he would attain to, and then to hold that ideal steadily and continually before his mind, never allowing faith—his positive thought-forces—to give way to or to be neutralized by doubts and fears, and then to set about doing each day what his hands find to do, never complaining, but spending the time that he would otherwise spend in complaint in focusing his thought-forces upon the ideal that his mind has built, will sooner or later bring about the full materialization of that for which he sets out.

There are those who, when they begin to grasp the fact that there is what we may term a “science of thought,” who, when they begin to realize that through the instrumentality of our interior, spiritual thought-forces we have the power of gradually molding the every-day conditions of life as we would have them, in their early enthusiasm are not able to see results as quickly as they expect, and are apt to think, therefore, that after all there is not very much in that which has but newly come to their knowledge. They must remember, however, that in endeavoring to overcome an old or to grow a new habit, everything cannot be done all at once.

In the degree, that we attempt to use the thought-forces do we continually become able to use them more effectively. Progress is slow at first, more rapid as we proceed. Power grows by using, or, in other words, using brings a continually increasing power. This is governed by law the same as are all things in our lives, and all things in the universe about us. Every act and advancement made by the musician is in full accordance with law. No one commencing the study of music can, for example, sit down to the piano and play the piece of a master at the first effort. He must not conclude, however, nor does he conclude, that the piece of the master cannot be played by him, or, for that matter, by any one. He begins to practice the piece. The law of the mind that we have already noticed comes to his aid, whereby his mind follows the music more readily, more rapidly, and more surely each succeeding time, and there also comes into operation and to his aid the law underlying the action of the reflex nerve system of the body, which we have also noticed, whereby his fingers coordinate their movements with the movements of his mind, more readily, more rapidly, and more accurately each succeeding time; until by and by the time comes when that which he stumbles through at first, that in which there is no harmony, nothing but discord, finally reveals itself as the music of the master, the music that thrills and moves masses of men and women. So it is in the use of the thought-forces. It is the reiteration, the constant reiteration of the thought that grows the power of continually stronger thought-focusing, and that finally brings manifestation.

All life is from within out. This is something that cannot be reiterated too often. The springs of life are all from within. This being true, it would be well for us to give more time to the inner life than we are accustomed to give to it, especially in this Western world.

There is nothing that will bring us such abundant returns as to take a little time in the quiet each day of our lives. We need this to get the kinks out of our minds and hence out of our lives. We need this to form better the higher ideals of life. We need this in order to see clearly in mind the things upon which we would concentrate and focus the thought-forces. We need this in order to make continually anew and to keep our conscious connection with the Infinite. We need this in order that the rush and hurry of our every-day life does not keep us away from the conscious realization of the fact that the spirit of Infinite life and power that is back of all working in and through all, the life of all, is the life of our life, and the source of our power; and that outside of this we have no life and we have no power. To realize this fact fully, and to live in it consciously at all times, is to find the kingdom of God, which is essentially an inner kingdom, and can never be anything else. The kingdom of heaven is to be found only within, and this is done once for all, and in a manner in which it cannot otherwise be done, when we come into the conscious, living realization of the fact that, in our real selves, we are essentially one with the Divine life, and open ourselves continually so that this Divine life can speak to and manifest through us. In this way, we come into the condition where we are continually walking with God. In this way, the consciousness of God becomes a living reality in our lives; and in the degree in which it becomes a reality does it bring us into the realization of continually increasing wisdom, insight, and power. This consciousness of God in the soul of man is the essence, indeed the sum and substance of all religion. This identifies religion with every act and every moment of every-day life. That which does not identify itself with every moment of every day and with every act of life is religion in name only and not in reality. This consciousness of God in the soul of man is the one thing uniformly taught by all the prophets, by all the inspired ones, by all the seers and mystics in the world’s history, whatever the time, wherever the country, whatever the religion, whatever minor differences we may find in their lives and teachings. In regard to this, they all agree; indeed, this is the essence of their teaching, as it has also been the secret of their power and the secret of their lasting influence.

Losing Weight Using the Law of Attraction

Listen with webreader
Silhouettes representing healthy, overweight, ...

Image via Wikipedia

A very popular question about the Law of Attraction is “can it be used for weight loss?” The answer is a definitive yes! However there are a few steps you should take to ensure success.

First, you need to become aware of the negative thoughts surrounding us about weight. “If you eat that, you’ll get fat.” “Obesity is genetic and can’t be controlled.” “It’s hard to lose weight.” Now, these extremely common statements and regularly accepted “facts” are part of the root cause of our obesity problems. What we accept, we allow. What we believe, is.

If you have accepted that eating certain foods will make you fat, and then proceed to eat them because you like them, you may expect to grow fat. If you accept that obesity is genetic, you will not attempt to lose weight. You won’t even try. And if you accept that losing weight is difficult, as almost anyone will happily tell you, then you are agreeing that your path to losing weight must be difficult, if not impossible.

However, step back and take a good hard look at your beliefs about diet, exercise, and weight. Do you believe that because you are a couch potato or a computer geek, your lack of exercise will cause you to become fat? Then don’t be surprised when it happens. Do you believe that eating the large fries instead of small is going to probably make you fat? You’re probably already gaining weight. Our beliefs, thoughts and expectations firmly dictate our reality. So if you want to change your reality, first you need to change your thoughts.

This world of solid matter is not nearly as solid as it appears. It is in fact woven from a maelstrom of subatomic particles, whizzing and whirling around, inhabiting less than 1% of all space. These particles can simply blink in and out of existence and teleport from one spot to another. That’s not science fiction – that’s science fact.

Bring it up a few levels, and you have the human cells. Most of the cells in your body die and are replaced fairly frequently. These cells grow according to what you place in your body and what nutrients they are given or deprived of. If you begin a healthy lifestyle now, the potential for fast bodily change is very real, but you must be aware that this is possible, otherwise you are going to fall back onto the old stockpile belief of “losing weight is hard”.

Your thoughts can easily manipulate your reality, and what could you possibly have more control over than your own physical body, the one apparatus in the physical world with which you do not appear to have a disconnect? (All disconnection from the external world is false, but appears to be real).

But the most important thing in weight loss is your mental bodily image. Every day you look at yourself in the mirror. You snarl at your weight. You groan that you do not look the way you want to. You twist, turn and contort yourself and look with disgust at the part or parts of your body that you are unhappy with. This is feeding negative energy into your bodily image, and that’s exactly what you will attract – more things to feel disgusted with about your body.

When you see yourself in the mirror, stop judging yourself and begin loving yourself. That body carries you around, and you should be grateful that you have one at all! Fully accept your body as it is right now, and decide that you would like to change it in order to give yourself a happier, healthier existence. Again, accept your body in the mirror, and stop snarling and judging yourself. When you love your body, then naturally your body will feel better and will become healthier. As this happens your body will naturally shift to fit the image that you are holding in your mind: a healthier, thinner body. You will never lose weight while you judge yourself fat. That is rule number 1, and unfortunately that is the rule that 99% of people break from the get-go.

I hope this has shed some light on how you can readjust your thinking to allow yourself to develop a thinner, healthier body using the Law of Attraction. Good luck to you!

How to Take Action with the Law of Attraction

Listen with webreader

When you begin working with the Law of Attraction more proactively, you may wonder whether you need to take physical action in addition to your mental and emotional exercises. The answer to this will vary depending upon who you ask.

There are those who claim that no action is needed; just directing the right frequency of thought and emotion toward a desired outcome is enough. Then there are those who believe that action is always required, because action is the medium through which all wants are manifested.

In my experience, it can undoubtedly work either way. Depending on the situation, you might possibly find yourself needing to take certain measures toward your goals.

Here is an uncomplicated process to help you know for sure:

  • Take care of the intimate work first. Focus on getting your thoughts, emotions, beliefs and expectations centered with what you want. Don’t worry about “how” it’s going to happen, just focus on putting forth the right frequency of energy to attract it. You can do this by meditating, imagining, affirming, and making a vision board, and so on.
  • Completely let go. Once you are centered with your yearnings, turn it over to the universe. Don’t fret about whether it will appear, or put yourself in a panic trying to come up with a strategy. Just step back from it and let it build for a little while. The amount of time is up to you, but I recommend no less than a week or two.
  • Tune into your intuition. During this release period, turn your attention inward regularly. Tap into your intuition and find out if there is something you can do to bring this yearning into your life. You may or may not receive any insights about it. If you do feel a hunch or nudge to do something specific, by all means go for it. If not, simply pay attention for any opportunities that might appear later. Don’t try to force or hurry the process along, because you’ll most likely end up causing more interruptions. These things have a tendency of appearing at exactly the right time, no matter how we try to interfere!

The fact is there is no right way or wrong way to use the Law of Attraction. Interestingly, the way it works usually seems to correlate with your beliefs.

If you believe you have to take action to attract your desires, guess what? You probably will. Likewise, if you believe that action is not required, the cosmos will find a way to deliver your desires without any extra exertion on your part.

However, there are instances when you will be urged to take action even if you originally didn’t believe you’d have to do so. When this happens, simply follow where your heart leads. The actions you are urged to take will ALWAYS be for your highest good, and they’ll usually be quite enjoyable! Discover how to put faith into your intuition for assistance anytime you want to attract something, and you will be shown the way to get it as quickly and easily as possible – whatever that may call for.
