If there was a way you could experience your desires before you actually achieved them
wouldn't that be exciting? Well, there is, and it's called Lucid Dreaming. Now I'm not going to mislead you. This is not something you can go home this
evening and experience but with practice you can experience anything you desire in your dreams.
A Lucid Dream is simply dreaming while you know you are dreaming. Many people can remember having Lucid Dreams
but, there is a difference between having a Lucid Dream and being able to control your dreams. You need to
accomplish the first before you'll be able to accomplish the second.
The best way to begin learning to have Lucid Dreams is to begin to question yourself multiple times a day - am I
awake or am I dreaming. Start developing this habit right away. What you are doing is training yourself to be more
aware. Once this habit is developed you will find that even while dreaming you will begin to ask. All of a sudden
you will ask and realize, I'm dreaming.
How will you know? You will become aware of dream signs. For example if you realize you're flying or breathing
underwater you're probably dreaming. There are obvious incongruities like turning on a light switch but the
lighting doesn't change. One that many experience is being naked in public.
Start recording your dreams in as much detail as possible in a dream journal as soon as you awaken. In my case I
may wake up two or three times a night. I don't always wake from a dream but when I do, I record it. This will also
lead you to realize your dream signs. If you consistently find yourself traveling through the Greek Isles in your
dreams then that will show up in your dream journal and improve your awareness of what is a dream and what
isn't.
Another technique many find helpful is to affirm just before going to sleep. I can fully remember my dreams when
I awake. I always know when I am dreaming. I take full control of my dreams. I can create any situation at will in
my dreams. I can go anywhere and do anything in my dreams. My dreams are always vivid and memorable. I can meet
people who have passed on in my dreams. I am fully aware during my dreams. Are all excellent affirmations to encourage Lucid Dreaming.
It is best to not play the radio or music when trying to have Lucid Dreams as it can be distracting. If you play
music choose music that has no lyrics and use the same music each night. This will allow you to concentrate on your
dreaming.
Let's discuss when we dream. As you go to sleep you pass through increasingly slower brainwave activity until you reach the Delta state which is 2 to 4 Hz. Each
sleep cycle lasts from 90 to 100 minutes so you will have 4 to 5 cycles per night. The stages of these cycles
involve four levels of Non-REM sleep followed by REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. The REM period is when we dream.
This REM period increases in length each cycle so by the end of your sleep, your last REM cycle can be as long as
45 minutes. Can you imagine what it would be like having a 45 minute Lucid Dream?
Once you have learned to realize when you are dreaming, you are ready to start controlling your dreams. There is
no mystery to this, you simply begin to try. Tell yourself you'd like to go to the Grand Canyon and see what
happens. Keep trying and you'll keep having greater success. Ultimately you will have total control over your
dreams. What an incredible achievement, to be able to do anything you desire
in your dreams.
Ok, now how do you use this with the Law of Attraction? Lucid Dreaming is another
method of reprogramming your subconscious mind. It is a very
powerful method. When you can actually experience your desires in your mind the subconscious will know firsthand that you can achieve anything that you can imagine because
to the subconscious you already have.
